Wirral’s Heritage Open Days programme is organised by the Wirral History & Heritage Association with the support of scores of volunteers. It is Wirral’s biggest heritage event and this year covers the eleven day period, 6-16 September, aiming to give visitors and residents alike the chance to enjoy a rich variety of architecture, landscape and history. The full Wirral programme can be seen here.

Heritage Open Days celebrate the country’s outstanding architecture and culture by offering free access to properties, many of which are normally closed to the public or charge visitors for admission. Each year thousands of places open their doors and volunteers organise talks, guided tours and events to promote their community’s heritage. For information on Heritage Open Days regionally and nationally see www.heritageopendays.org.uk
