On Saturday,14th June, a blue plaque was unveiled at 13 South Bank, Oxton. It was to celebrate Sir Peter Shepheard (1913-2002) who was born in this cottage and lived here, with his family, until he graduated from Liverpool School of Architecture in 1936. The unveiling was done by Peter Shepheard’s niece, Carole Vaughan, and Annabel Downs, editor of Peter Shepheard – Landscape Design Trust publication. Jane Patterson, the present owner of the cottage, then welcomed all present into her beautiful garden to enjoy refreshments and the environment that had proved a lifelong inspiration to Peter Shepheard.
