This year’s ‘Virtual’ Secret Gardens of Oxton will take play on Sunday, May 9 between 10am and 4pm.

Visitors will be able to access the event via Facebook by searching for https://www.facebook.com/oxtonsecretgardens in your internet browser. You don’t need to be a member of Facebook to access the page.

The page will be updated throughout the day with videos and pictures of gardens in Oxton’s conservation area as well as musical performances by local entertainers.

The event is free to view and any money raised from business sponsorship and voluntary donations will be shared between the Oxton Society and Friends of the Arno.

An array of raffle prizes has been donated by local businesses and raffle tickets are on sale at the Drawing Room and Oxton Boutique until Saturday, May 8.  Volunteers will also be selling tickets at The Willows on Saturday, May 8 and Sunday May 9.

The event will also be supporting the Wirral Foodbank by encouraging residents to donate food using the donation boxes by the village notice board and by the Ingestre Road entrance to the Arno.  The boxes will be available between 10am and 4pm each day leading up to the event.

Last year’s virtual event was a huge success, attracting more than 2,500 visitors on the day and raising more than £3,000 for Wirral Foodbank.
